Vegetable tunnels are looking good despite the heat and drought The seriousness of the drought and scarcity of water is emphasized during mentorship visits to the township vegetable tunnels. They are taught on the recycling of their household water. It is especially the water from their washing that helps to keep the tunnel well watered whilst the water restrictions are still a reality. Tunnels of project 7 that was setup during October received their first mentorship visits. Further training on tomato growing has also been provided. They have been taught how to prune the tomatoes. Spoudazo’s team is also teaching them how to support the growth of the tomato plants by tying it up with string.
