Tjhabelang School addresses the growing need in our community to prepare children in the rural areas for school, and also to increase the level of education for children in these areas. In the human life cycle early childhood (birth to 7 years) is considered the most important phase.
By giving children the best start in life means ensuring that they have good health, proper nutrition and early learning. This school addresses some of the critical issues facing the disadvantaged community in the Bainsvlei rural area.
An integrated educational experience at Tjhabelang addresses all facets of a child’s physical, social, intellectual and spiritual development.
Tjhabelang Primary School is a private school that serves a poverty-stricken rural area and charges a token school fee. They are entirely dependent on the goodwill of sponsors for its survival. To date its main sponsor has been ClinVet International, which has provided the land on which the school stands, and who financed much of the construction and running expenses to date. Other corporate sponsors have been ABSA Bank and Iliad Africa Limited, while other individuals make personal contributions which provide funding for, among other needs, the establishment of a vegetable garden and computer software.
