Cindy van Zyl was one of the lucky 21 candidates who were chosen to participate in this programme. Over 7500 entries were received. Cindy will be working at Spoudazo Enterprises Trust and applying her expertise, time and skills at Beudene Daycare for Disabled, one of Spoudazo’s SED projects! There are many children with autism and other disabilities that attend Beudene Daycare center.
Cindy has a Diploma in Children’s Services and is currently completing her Bachelor’s Degree of Education (Foundation Phase). She has also been specializing in one-on-one education for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder for 4 years. She has also been incorporating technology to help facilitate each child’s learning experience with the use of internationally recognized techniques including BrainGym.
Cindy will be working with the children at Beudene Daycare on an individual basis to excel their self-help skills related to health and safety, assist with education in collaboration with their schools, parents and therapists. She will also be monitoring their progress through active record keeping on a daily basis.
One very important aspect of Cindy’s work is to empower the parents of the children by doing home visits and assisting them in the development and cooperation of their children
